Podejście to znalazło zastosowanie w energetyce, przemyśle chemicznym i systemach przesyłowych. Opracował m.in. teorię optymalizacji dynamicznej i współtworzył systemy regulacji dla rafinerii w Płocku.

W konsekwencji coraz częściej dochodzi do problemów z utrzymaniem stabilności napięciowej i odpowiedniej jakości zasilania.

Niniejszy referat analizuje rolę energoelektroniki jako podstawowego narzędzia umożliwiającego przejście od pasywnych do aktywnych metod przesyłu i dystrybucji energii elektrycznej. W tym celu przedstawiono m.in. ewolucję systemów FACTS i Custom Power, następującą wraz z postępami energoelektroniki.

Design of an Energy-Aware Sparse Autoencoder for Lightweight Intrusion Detection in IoT- Enabled Electrical Systems
The rapid proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices in modern electrical systems and smart grid infrastructures has introduced critical cybersecurity challenges, demanding intrusion detection systems (IDS) that operate within the strict power and energy budgets of embedded electrical components. Conventional deep learning-based IDS models, while accurate, impose substantial computational and energy overhead that exceeds the operational capacity of resource-constrained IoT nodes deployed in electrical networks. This paper presents the design of an energy-aware sparse autoencoder (EA-SAE) architecture that explicitly minimizes computational energy consumption during inference through a multiobjective loss function integrating reconstruction fidelity, activation sparsity, classification accuracy, and an energy cost term. The energy cost is modeled using established hardware energy constants, where each multiply-accumulate operation consumes 3.7 pJ and each memory access consumes 5.0pJ, enabling direct estimation of per-inference energy dissipation. Simulation on the NSL-KDD benchmark dataset demonstrates that the proposed design achieves 92% reduction in floating-point operations and an estimated 93% reduction in inference energy consumption, from 12mJ to 0.8 mJ per inference, with only 1.3% degradation in detection accuracy. The results present a new design solution for energy-efficient intelligent security modules applicable to IoT-enabled electrical systems and smart infrastructure.

Uzyskane efekty skonfrontowano z wynikami pochodzącymi z przeprowadzonego studium symulacyjnego.

Data-Driven Stability Assessment of Low-Inertia Multi-Machine Power Systems
This paper presents a data-driven stability assessment of multi-machine power systems under high renewable energy penetration. A benchmark five-area, 16-machine IEEE 68-bus system is used for the study. Low-inertia conditions are emulated by varying renewable integration from 20% to 80%. Rotor angle dynamics are analyzed under multiple disturbances, and a dataset is generated to represent diverse operating conditions. Machine learning–based classification and clustering techniques are employed to identify system states. A hybrid deep learning framework combining Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks captures both spatial and temporal dynamics. The proposed method achieves 98% accuracy and enables fast, reliable stability assessment for modern low-inertia power systems.

Agentic AI in ERP: Autonomous Decision-Making Framework for Intelligent Supply Chain Execution
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems have gradually evolved from transactional platforms into data-driven environments augmented by artificial intelligence. Despite advances in predictive analytics and explainable AI, a practical limitation persists in real-world implementations, where insights generated by ERP systems still require manual interpretation and action, which introduces delays in time-sensitive supply chain scenarios. This paper proposes an Agentic AI framework designed to enable autonomous decision-making within ERP-driven supply chain processes. Unlike traditional approaches that focus on prediction or recommendation, the proposed model introduces intelligent agents capable of evaluating operational context, selecting appropriate responses, and executing actions directly within the ERP workflow. In doing so, it attempts to bridge what can be described as the “decision-to-action gap” in enterprise systems. To illustrate this approach, a vendor delay mitigation scenario is examined, where the system dynamically evaluates supply risk and initiates alternative procurement or logistics strategies without human intervention. The architecture supporting this capability combines event-driven processing, machine learning models, and controlled execution mechanisms to ensure both responsiveness and governance. The study suggests that incorporating Agentic AI into ERP systems can reduce response latency, improve operational continuity, and enhance supply chain resilience. This work contributes to the evolving discussion on intelligent enterprise systems by outlining a practical pathway toward more autonomous and adaptive ERP environments.

Przeniesienie generacji OZE i magazynowania energii na wspólną szynę DC pozwala wyeliminować zbędne stopnie konwersji a jednocześnie zachować pełną integrację z siecią AC.

The shift from the classic unidirectional grid configuration, driven by the growing share of renewable energy installations in the national energy mix, where the clear division between electricity producers and consumers is blurring, forces transmission and distribution network operators to adapt to new conditions and challenges in grid management. Over the years, various automation solutions and systems have been implemented to provide the power system with the tools necessary to cope with developments and emerging issues. Recently, in light of geopolitical tensions and the ongoing war in Ukraine, new challenges related to system operation have been added, with the standard N-1 scenario no longer considered a safe and acceptable emergency scenario. This article focuses on the development of ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management System) capabilities and their interoperability with existing power grid security and monitoring systems to address the challenges posed by the current realities.

Assessment of LoRa Link Quality and Coverage Boundary Based on RSSI, SNR and PDR Metrics under Diverse Propagation Conditions
This article presents an experimental evaluation of the suitability of the Round Trip Time (RTT) method for estimating the distance between devices communicating via LoRa technology. The research was conducted using two LILYGO TTGO LoRa32 modules equipped with SX1276 radio chips. The analysis examined the impact of LoRa physical layer parameters, such as the signal spreading factor (SF), bandwidth (BW), and coding rate (CR), on packet round-trip time and selected link quality metrics: RSSI, SNR, and PDR. Measurements were performed in four diverse propagation scenarios: in open space, in open space during snowfall, in an urban environment, and in an urban environment with a building corner as an obstacle. For each configuration, measurement series comprising 50 to 100 trials were recorded, allowing for a comparison of transmission stability as a function of distance and environmental conditions. The results indicate that the measured RTT is, in practical terms, dominated by fixed device processing delays and frame transmission time, thereby masking microsecond-scale differences resulting from signal propagation over distances of hundreds of meters. At the same time, the expected communication relationships were confirmed: an increase in SF enhances transmission resilience at the expense of transmission time, a higher BW reduces transmission time while degrading the SNR margin, and CR indirectly affects reliability by lengthening the frame. The results obtained lead to the conclusion that the RTT method implemented on typical IoT modules without radio-layer timestamps does not provide a reliable distance estimate, whereas the RSSI, SNR, and PDR metrics are useful for assessing the quality and range limit of a LoRa link under real-world conditions.

Methodology for Age and Gender Recognition Based on Speech Content
This article presents a methodology for designing an automatic speaker age and gender recognition system based on verbal utterances. Paralinguistic information can play a crucial role in the design of systems for forensic applications, where the interrogated speaker is typically non-cooperative. Consequently, it is essential to extract additional data that could narrow down the pool of suspects, such as the speaker's gender and age. For the purpose of this study, the Common Voice dataset was utilized as the data source. This multilingual speech corpus contains recordings supplemented with metadata regarding the speakers' age groups and declared gender. Initially, 12 classes were defined, comprising two gender categories (female and male) and six age ranges. The proposed framework encompasses: signal preprocessing, feature extraction using MFCC technique, feature selection, classification implemented in two variants: direct variant (simultaneous classification into one of twelve classes and two-stage variant (initial gender classification followed by age group assignment within the recognized gender). Based on the results, it was determined that the final accuracy for age and gender classification was comparable for both variants, reaching 86.3% for the direct approach and 86.38% for the two-stage approach. In general, it is observed that the proposed system handles the recognition of extreme age groups effectively, whereas the most significant challenges arise within the middle classes, potentially due to feature similarity in these age intervals. Despite the similar levels of efficiency, the two-stage architecture proved more advantageous in terms of decision-making organization and system scalability. From a design perspective, this variant also offers greater potential for further development, both in optimizing the gender classifier and refining age-specific classifiers, making it a more promising solution for practical implementation in forensic applications.

The optimization of an axially symmetric gripper using the artificial bee colony algorithm
This paper presents the application of the artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm to the optimization of an axially symmetric electromagnetic gripper. The optimization software consists of two modules: (a) the optimization solver, and (b) the finite element mathematical model of the gripper. The structure of the gripper was described using four decision variables. The correctness of the optimization procedure was tested using the Michalewicz function. The total mass (core mass and copper mass) of the optimized gripper was assumed as the objective function. Additionally, two constraints were assumed concerning the minimum force generated by the gripper and the maximum magnetic flux density in the core. A series of optimization calculations was performed. The results from the ABC algorithm were compared with those from the particle swarm algorithm. Selected optimization results were selected and discussed.

Pewnym rozwiązaniem, podnoszącym znaczne nakłady inwestycyjne, jest zastosowanie odpowiednio dużych magazynów energii umożliwiających magazynowanie produkowanej nadmiarowej energii i wykorzystanie jej w warunkach korzystniejszej ceny.

Comparative studies of neural models and regression machine learning models of the electric power demand system
Currently, the importance of increasingly accurate forecasting of domestic electricity demand is growing. One method leading to the creation of such a model is the regression machine learning method, which was designed as an hourly method, assuming that we consider the National Electricity Demand System as a MIMO type system, or alternatively, we have 24 MISO type subsystems. Due to the better learning accuracy of MISO type models, this type of modeling approach was used in the present study. Parametric ARX method and numerical data from 2025 regarding 24 input variables related to electricity production by JWCD units and 24 variables related to electricity production by non-JWCD units, as well as single output variables related to National Electricity Demand, were used for modeling. In this way, 24-hour parametric discrete ARX models were obtained in the MATLAB and Simulink environment. In the modeling, different time horizons were taken into account, i.e., monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual. The discrete hourly models were then converted into continuous hourly models, and these, in turn, into continuous state-space models. For the purpose of comparing the forecasts obtained by the models, comparative studies and sensitivity analyses were conducted in Simulink, obtaining a series of interesting research results, including those concerning the stability, controllability, and observability of the studied systems.

Analysis of post-processing stages impact on Speaker Diarization effectiveness
This paper presents the impact of additional post-processing stages on the overall performance of a speaker diarization system based on ECAPA-TDNN speaker embeddings. A reference system built upon the ECAPA-TDNN network and spectral clustering is described, followed by a proposed multi-stage optimization pipeline comprising median filtering of the label sequence, dimensionality reduction via Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and cosine similarity-based re-segmentation. Experiments were conducted on the AMI Corpus, encompassing approximately 100 hours of meeting recordings. The corpus consists of 171 recording scenarios, each captured using several microphones of two types with an average recording duration of approximately 35 minutes and a speaker count ranging from 4 to 5 per session. The application of the proposed pipeline reduced the average Diarization Error Rate (DER) from approximately 31% to approximately 29%. Meanwhile, the average Jaccard Error Rate (JER) dropped from approximately 40% to approximately 37,5%.

A study of the effects of temperature and strain on the spectrum of a tilted fiber Bragg grating
Fiber Bragg gratings are widely used for measuring strain and temperature, typically assuming uniform interaction along the entire grating length. Non-uniformities cause spectral distortions, which are usually undesirable but can also be used to analyze strain or temperature distributions. Introducing a non-zero tilt angle of the diffraction planes leads to the generation of cladding modes, increasing the amount of available sensing information. This work compares the effects of uniform and non-uniform strain, as well as temperature, on a tilted fiber Bragg grating (TFBG) with a 2° tilt angle. Under uniform strain, linear shifts of the modes were observed, whereas non-uniform strain caused peak broadening and deformation. The conducted research contributes to improving the resolution of uniform measurements and reconstructing non-uniform strain using modified Bragg gratings.

Modelowanie i algorytm sterowania ultrakondensatorowego modułu energii sprzęgniętego z siecią elektroenergetyczną z wykorzystaniem modelu uśrednionego: studium przypadku

Inductive power supply system for autonomous platforms
This paper presents an innovative bidirectional inductive power transfer system dedicated to autonomous platforms, providing a modern alternative to conventional charging methods. Contactless energy transfer significantly enhances operational autonomy and uninterrupted work. Bidirectional power flow enables advanced energy management, allowing both energy consumption and recovery of energy surplus. The publication discusses the system power requirements and presents the overall system architecture, including primary and secondary coils, a resonant power converter based on LCC-LCC compensation topology, a control unit, and a wireless communication system. Emphasis is placed on energy transfer optimization, power loss minimization, and ensuring safe operation in a dynamic environment. The effectiveness of the proposed solution was validated by experimental investigations. As part of the research, a system demonstration incorporating two H-bridges based on MOSFETs was developed. For the construction of the air transformer coils, litz copper wire with two planar windings, ferrite cores, and an aluminium coil housing were employed. Voltage compensation was achieved using a capacitor battery in the DC-link, and a resonant circuit on both sides that consisted of an inductor and two capacitors: one in series and one in parallel. The unique feature of the system is the capability for remote control of individual coils, enabling vehicle charging even during motion, thereby significantly enhancing operational independence. Simulation and experimental measurements were conducted, including an analysis of the influence of coil positioning on energy transfer efficiency and overall system performance.

Concept for a Multimodal Voice Deepfake Detection System
The widespread adoption of generative AI and the easy availability of speech synthesis and voice conversion tools have made it possible to create convincing voice imitations quickly, cheaply, and at scale. This trend increases the risk of fraud, impersonation of public figures, and attacks on business processes carried out through telephony and VoIP channels, where compression and signal degradation make authenticity assessment even more challenging. This paper presents the concept of a multimodal voice deepfake detection system designed for secure digital communication. The proposed approach combines acoustic-prosodic analysis with the analysis of speech content and speaking style. The acoustic layer relies on complementary ML/DL models based on cepstral and prosodic features, convolutional and transformer architectures, and speaker embeddings extracted by specialized time-delay neural networks with attention mechanisms. The content layer is based on speech transcription as well as stylometric and contextual analysis, making it possible to detect not only signal-level artifacts but also linguistic and semantic inconsistencies. An important aspect of the proposed concept is that it accounts for hybrid and partial manipulations, as well as channel degradation down to an 8 kS/s sampling rate, which is typical of telecommunication environments. The originality of the approach lies in treating deepfake detection not only as an audio classification problem, but also as a task of verifying speech authenticity using multiple sources of evidence. The proposed architecture therefore produces its final decision by combining acoustic, textual, and stylometric features rather than relying on a single model. The solution is intended to enable more reliable authenticity assessment under near-real-world conditions and to provide a foundation for scalable tools that help protect users and organizations against voice-based manipulation.

Investigation of the Electrical and Calorimetric Properties of Fe₃O₄/PVP Nanoparticles: Influence of Frequency and Temperature on Charge Transport Mechanisms and Heat Generation in Ferrofluids
The paper examines the electrical and calorimetric properties of ferrofluids containing magnetite (Fe₃O₄) nanoparticles coated with polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and dispersed in a liquid. These materials combine magnetic, electrical, and thermal properties that can be tuned by composition, structure, and external conditions. Impedance measurements were performed over a wide frequency range (4 Hz–1 MHz) and temperatures from room temperature to 60°C. From these, resistance, capacitance, phase shift, electrical conductivity, and the real and imaginary parts of dielectric permittivity were determined. Frequency analysis revealed key charge transport mechanisms, including electron tunneling, as well as polarization and relaxation processes related to nanoparticles and their polymer shells. Temperature dependence showed the role of thermal activation in conductivity. Calorimetric measurements at different field frequencies assessed the ability of ferrofluids to generate heat due to energy losses, linking electrical and dielectric behavior with thermal effects important for applications. SEM-EDS analysis provided insight into nanoparticle morphology, agglomeration, and chemical composition, complementing the physical measurements. Results show that electrical and thermal properties strongly depend on frequency and temperature, indicating complex behavior. Due to their tunability, Fe₃O₄/PVP ferrofluids have potential applications in electronics (e.g., sensors, cooling systems, tunable dielectric materials) and biomedical engineering, particularly in heat-based techniques such as magnetic hyperthermia.

An Integrated ETL Framework for Condition Monitoring of Pneumatic Actuators
Reliable condition monitoring of pneumatic actuators is essential for minimizing downtime in automated production lines. This process requires an efficient Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipeline to handle operational parameters such as pressure, flow, and response times. This paper proposes an integrated ETL framework and evaluates its performance against alternative data acquisition strategies. The research evaluates various data integration strategies, comparing hardware-integrated methods with different middleware and communication-based approaches. These ETL architectures are assessed based on performance indicators such as data integrity, latency, and reliability under industrial conditions. By analyzing the impact of different extraction and transformation techniques, the study determines how the choice of data pipeline influences the accuracy of state evaluation. The findings offer a guide for selecting the optimal data acquisition strategy for advanced diagnostic systems in smart manufacturing.

Analysis of the influence of magnetic flux density on the assessment of structural condition of ferromagnetic composite materials
With the increasing use of composite materials in modern engineering structures, there is a growing need to develop effective methods for evaluating their condition and structural integrity. Non-destructive testing (NDT) methods are of particular importance in this area, as they enable material diagnostics without interfering with its structure. Various physical phenomena are utilized in these techniques; however, each method is characterized by specific limitations affecting the scope and accuracy of the obtained results. Therefore, identifying these limitations and determining the conditions under which a given method can be effectively applied becomes a key issue. This paper presents an analysis of a method employing a magnetic field camera for the identification of the structure of ferromagnetic composite materials. Particular attention was paid to the influence of magnetic flux density generated by an external magnetic field source on the quality and reliability of the obtained images. The research focused on a system with a constant magnetic field excitation and on the analysis of magnetic flux distribution in the immediate vicinity of the surface of the tested material. The conducted analysis made it possible to determine the relationship between magnetic flux density and the ability to distinguish structural features of the composite. The limitations of the method resulting from the selection of magnetic field parameters and their impact on the interpretation of measurement results were also identified. The obtained results provide a basis for optimizing testing conditions and may contribute to improving the effectiveness of magnetic-based diagnostic techniques for composite materials.

Magnetic nanoparticles for targeted hyperthermia in lung cancer therapy
The aim of this study is to analyse the temperature distribution during magnetic hyperthermia. To carry out this analysis, a lung tumour model was developed based on MRI images and embedded in a human body model. Figure 1 shows a ‘double pancake’ excitation configuration with two flat coils surrounding the object, i.e. the Duke model from the Virtual Population library [1] with a lung tumour. Due to the presence of the magnetic field generated by the applicator, the power density distribution caused by eddy currents was investigated, along with heat dissipation from the magnetic nanoparticles. Two scenarios were then considered: temperature rise caused by eddy currents, and temperature rise caused by both eddy currents and different volume fractions of magnetic nanoparticles in the tumour.

Validation of the orthogonal matching method for short circuit impedance identification
Modern simulation packages, which provide detailed insight into the transient states of power systems, often employ simplified models of system components. These models were developed when digital measurement and analysis methods were unimaginable. Currently, the popular identification method involves "network analyzer" measurements of the frequency characteristics of the modeled object and the use of the "vector fitting" method, which provides models in terms of poles and residuals. This approach has two weaknesses: the frequency characteristics are obtained at low excitations, and the uncertainty of the model parameters remains unknown. This paper presents a validation of the orthogonal regression method for identifying the short-circuit impedance of a transformer targeting the transient recovery voltage (TRV).

Estimation of Fuel and Air Flows in Hard Coal–Biomass Co-Firing Using Flame Image Sequences and Neural Networks
The paper presents an analysis of flame image data using neural networks to estimate fuel and air flows. Given the calorific value of the fuel, this makes it possible to estimate the thermal output and the air excess ratio. The experiments were conducted in a laboratory co-firing system representative of industrial hard coal–biomass boilers. The performance of several state-of-the-art architectures for analysing spatio-temporal data was investigated, focusing in particular on those that achieved the highest results and examining the dependence on the resolution of the input image. By comparing various CNNs on a large, diverse dataset of unprocessed images, the research contributes to the development of intelligent, automated control systems that ensure greater stability, efficiency and emission control, combining advanced visual diagnostics with real-time industrial applications. The proposed method can be integrated with camera-based monitoring systems to provide real-time, non-intrusive estimation of key combustion parameters, supporting adaptive control strategies, early detection of suboptimal operating conditions, and more efficient co-firing of alternative fuels such as biomass.

Analysis of medium-voltage network operation under high photovoltaic penetration
The paper consists of the analysis of medium voltage (MV) distribution network operation in conditions of high saturation with renewable sources, in particular photovoltaics. The dynamic development of distributed generation causes significant changes in the way the network operates, such as the appearance of reverse power flows, voltage increases and decreases, especially if the network configuration is not normal. The aim of the thesis was to determine the impact of connecting PV farms on the electrical energy parameters in the MV network and to determine the maximum power of PV sources which could be connected to the network while maintaining the quality criteria for electrical energy. The analyses were carried out on a model of a 15 kV rural MV network, modelled in the DIgSILENT PowerFactory environment. Variable daily load profiles of consumers and daily power generation profiles of PV sources were taken into account. The tests were performed for two network topology configurations (configuration A and configuration B), differing in the location of disconnect switches , and for three operating scenarios for each configuration: normal state and two emergency states. The results showed that properly distributed PV generation can significantly improve the voltage profile in the network, especially in emergency conditions, by compensating for voltage drops in remote nodes. The analysis confirmed that network topology is critical to its connection of PV sources power capacity. The conclusions indicate that further integration of renewable energy sources (RES) into MV grids requires not only appropriate source distribution but also support in the form of infrastructure or energy storage upgrades to ensure stability and reliability of supply throughout the daily cycle.

Multi-phase short-circuit protections within power exporting networks from distributed renewable generation systems – selected issues
In networks exporting power from distributed renewable energy systems, solutions that have proven their worth in existing transmission networks are increasingly being adopted. Among the components of power system protection are voltage-based protection devices, including distance and directional protections. However, the use of protection systems that perform well in transmission lines does not mean that their application in lines exporting energy from wind farms or photovoltaic plants will improve their operational reliability, nor that these protections will respond correctly to any disturbances that arise. The article presents methods for detecting the potential for incorrect voltage measurements, including potential issues that can be eliminated as early as the investment planning and design stages. The conclusions drawn from the article may help to reduce costs associated with construction, operation and potential failures resulting from incorrect decisions made by protection systems operating based on voltage measurements in power transmission systems from renewable energy sources (RES).

Odpieranie tak zmasowanego i rozproszonego w przestrzeni powietrznej natarcia wymaga ciągłego dostępu do rozproszonych źródeł zasilania, przeznaczonych w pierwszej kolejności do wykonywania zadań obronnych.

Seeing the Unseen: 2D-3D Fusion Based on Features for Occluded Object Localisation in Robotic Manipulation
Robotic manipulation in real world environments is often hindered by occlusion of relevant objects. Perception based solely on visual observations in real time may be insu cient to support reliable decision making and task execution. This paper presents a computer vision approach that integrates a 3D scan with a 2D camera image from the robot vision system in order to support object localisation under occlusion. The proposed method aligns visual features extracted from the camera image with a point cloud, allowing estimation of the spatial relationship between the camera and the environment. Based on this alignment, the system determines whether the target object is present in the workspace, even if it is obscured in order to aid its retrieval.

Modelowanie i symulacje komputerowe rezonansowego obwodu elektrycznego stosowanego w układzie redukcji drgań mechanicznych z funkcją odzysku energii

Recognition of selected acoustic signals characteristic of military operations
Modern military reconnaissance systems increasingly use acoustic analysis as a complement to traditional detection and observation methods. Automatic recognition of battlefield-related sounds can improve situational awareness and support decision-making in dynamic operational conditions. This study presents the concept of a system for automatic identification of selected acoustic signals characteristic of military environments. The experimental dataset included three classes of sounds: aircraft, ground vehicles, and gunfire. Its proper preparation, including class representativeness, formed the basis for further feature extraction and classification experiments. Due to the variability of signals within each class, a key challenge was selecting descriptors capable of distinguishing the analyzed sound categories. Feature extraction was based on Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC). To capture the dynamics of acoustic changes, first- and second-order derivatives, namely delta and delta-delta features, were also used. In total, six feature vector models were developed, differing in the configuration and number of filters in the filter bank. Three machine learning methods were applied: Decision Tree, k-Nearest Neighbors (k-NN), and Support Vector Machine (SVM). Classification was combined with feature selection using three independent ranking methods: ReliefF, Chi-square, and Kruskal–Wallis. The proposed models were evaluated under conditions approximating a real acoustic environment. The results show that properly selected acoustic features and classification methods enable effective recognition of selected military environmental sounds. The developed solution may provide a basis for further research on acoustic systems supporting situational awareness in military applications.

Assessment of the Impact of Vehicle-to-Home Strategies on Electric Vehicle Battery Degradation in a Residential Photovoltaic Microgrid
The increasing share of renewable energy sources creates challenges for energy balance and local energy management. Electric vehicle batteries used in vehicle-to-home applications can support prosumer microgrids by reducing energy imports and increasing photovoltaic self-consumption, but additional cycling may accelerate battery degradation. This paper investigates the impact of V2H operation on battery aging and microgrid costs using a simulation model based on real photovoltaic generation, energy price profiles, and a representative residential load profile. The results are used to assess whether energy savings compensate for battery degradation and investment costs, highlighting the trade-off between improved energy management and reduced battery lifetime.

Modeling of a multi-section transformer for a modular high-voltage DC-DC converter
The paper presents the architecture of a modular high-voltage DC-DC converter employing SiC-based switching devices, intended for operation in high-power pulse-forming systems. The developed system consists of four 2 kW modules (320 V DC / 0-50 kV DC). A key component of the converter is a high-voltage multi-section transformer with a proposed 3P6S configuration, incorporating a common-mode (CM) filter on the primary side. An analytical model of the multi-section transformer, including the impact of the CM filter, has been developed. Based on this model, a frequency-domain analysis was carried out, including the identification of the influence of the transformer equivalent circuit parameters on the operating conditions of the converter’s resonant circuit. The scope of the transformer design analysis also considered, among others, the need to reduce the secondary-side winding capacitance. The validity of the proposed model was verified by comparing the analytical results with experimental measurements. The conducted analysis demonstrated a significant impact of the multi-section transformer winding structure on the functional characteristics of the resonant converter, in particular on the output voltage regulation range under the assumed operating conditions.

Impact of Synthetic Data Generation on Prediction Accuracy and Failure Detection Reliability in MachineLearningBased Diagnostics of Power Rails
Insufficient volumes of labelled field data often limit the robustness of predictivemaintenance (PdM) models for busbar (power rail) diagnostics. This paper investigates how synthetic data generation influences both prediction accuracy and failure detection reliability in machinelearningbased diagnostics of power rails using temperature–current relationships. We deployed a wireless sensing system for minuteresolution measurements of RMS current and busbar temperature in a lowvoltage switchgear over several months. We then generated synthetic datasets by injecting stochastic load transients (via exponential profiles) into real current traces and mapping them to temperature through empirically observed currenttotemperature ratios. Three classes (normal, warning, fault) were constructed by progressively reducing that ratio to emulate thermal anomalies. A suite of classifiers (e.g., MLP, AdaBoost, LDA, SVMs) was trained and evaluated on mixed realandsynthetic datasets with a 70/20/10 split. Our experiments show that leveraging synthetic data enables stable classification of small (fewdegree) thermal deviations; and the best models (MLP, AdaBoost, LDA) achieved ~70–90% accuracy while retaining discrimination across weekday/weekend load patterns. We discuss reliability aspects (class confusion, calibration, crossday generalization) and outline practical guidance for syntheticdata design in PdM of power rails.

Integracja tych informacji z algorytmami planowania ścieżki ruchu umożliwia wybór tras bardziej optymalnych i efektywnych energetycznie przyczyniając się do oszczędności energii.

RF ablation technical parameters optimization of liver cancer
This paper presents the results of numerical studies on the multi-criteria optimization of technical parameters for radiofrequency (RFA) thermal ablation procedures. The main objective of the analyses was to assess the impact of the applicator’s geometry and its configuration (unipolar and bipolar) on the spatial distribution of the target zones of coagulative necrosis in liver tumor tissue. The study focused on identifying optimal technical parameters that allow for the optimization of therapeutic efficacy while simultaneously protecting healthy tissues. The study was conducted in the Sim4Life computational environment. A three-dimensional model of an ellipsoidal tumor located in liver tissue was prepared. The simulation process was carried out using a multi-step computational approach in which the electrostatic and thermal problems were separated. In the first phase, an electro-quasi static solver was used to determine the electric field distribution and the specific absorption rate (SAR). Dirichlet boundary conditions were applied, and current density continuity was assumed at the subdomain boundaries. In the second phase, a transient thermal solver was utilized. The calculated volumetric power density was introduced as a heat source into the Pennes bioheat equation. The analysis covered a 600-second temperature rise process, accounting for blood perfusion and a Neumann boundary condition at the domain boundaries. Applicators with 4 and 8 arms were tested at supply voltages ranging from 10 to 25 V. The results demonstrated that the bipolar mode causes a strong field concentration between the arms and the shaft, generating temperatures of approximately 119°C at 25 V. In contrast, the current distribution in the monopolar configuration is dispersed, resulting in significantly weaker heating; at 25 V, the tissue did not reach the destructive threshold of 60°C. Effective RFA requires tuning the mode and voltage to tool and tumor size.

Multi-terminal EV fast charging station based on multiport CF-MAB converter
The limited availability of public electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure poses a significant challenge to EV adoption in urban areas. This underscores the need for cost-effective solutions that enable charging for a large number of EVs, particularly for multi-terminal charging stations. One promising approach to reducing installation costs is the implementation of a current-fed multi-active bridge multiport converter (CF-MAB), powered by existing DC traction infrastructure. The use of a multiport converter allows for sharing electric components between several ports, reducing total number of elements required, compared to conventional systems, where each EV charger relies on a separate converter. Additionally, connection to the DC traction grid enables sharing some of the substation equipment between the traction network and the EV charger, further lowering installation costs. As a result, this article presents a scalable multiport CF-MAB converter, which requires only 6N switches to integrate storage battery and N EV chargers to the LV DC grid. Assembled 10kW five port CF-MAB converter prototype shows peak efficiency of 97-98%, depending on operation conditions.

Trendy rozwoju metod pomiaru i analizy temperatury w rozdzielnicach średniego i niskiego napięcia

A stable optical fiber attenuator manufactured using additive manufacturing technology
The architecture of modern global communications is fundamentally based on fiber-optic systems, which provide the high bandwidth and low latency necessary to meet the growing demand for data transmission. In these complex networks, precise management of optical signal power is not merely an optimization but a critical necessity for ensuring signal fidelity and system stability. Optical attenuators are key components in fiber-optic systems, enabling precise control of signal power levels. Solutions available on the market typically feature a fixed attenuation value, while also having specific technological or design limitations. The aim of this work was to design a modular fiber-optic attenuator that can be manufactured using widely available additive technologies. The designed attenuator was prepared for fabrication using the FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) 3D printing method. Two detailed variants of the attenuators were developed and tested on a laboratory setup. The developed solutions were filed with the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland. The research is being conducted as part of the project “Stable optical attenuator manufactured using additive technology,” implemented under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education program “Student Research Clubs Create Innovations”—project no. SKN/SP/629974/2025.

Preliminary Study on Leveraging Ensemble Convolutional Neural Networks for Robust Eye Movement Pattern Recognition via EEG Systems
Compact electroencephalography (EEG) devices enable novel human-computer interaction through neural signal decoding from minimal electrode setups. This study introduces an end-to-end framework for classifying oculomotor patterns—blinks and directional saccades -- using the BrainAccess Halo system with only two occipital channels (O1, O2). An ensemble of one-dimensional Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), combined via hard voting and stacking, achieves {$75\%$} accuracy despite hardware noise and low resolution, demonstrating viability for hands-free control systems. Data preprocessing includes Butterworth bandpass filtering ({$0.1-50$} Hz), Z-score normalization, {$2$}-second windowing, augmentation (noise, scaling, shifting), and Isolation Forest outlier removal. The CNN architecture features convolutional blocks ({$32/64$} filters), max-pooling, dropout, and One-vs-Rest binary models. Results outperform single-model baselines, especially for saccade discrimination, highlighting how deep learning compensates for sparse data.

Employing LLMs for Improved Bots Detection
Today, bots used for product- or services-related comments/reviews generation, as well as bots used for widely understood misinformation, are much more sophisticated than just a few years ago. Whilst the existence of such content proves to be a real problem from the point of view of the effects it causes, such a level of sophistication makes it difficult to distinguish which activity is bot-originated and which is generated by humans because simple text analyses used in the past are no longer valid. The task becomes even more challenging in case a potential solution were to be implemented on a resource-constrained, standalone system without the possibility to utilise the processing power of some online systems, such as ChatGPT, Gemma, etc. In this paper, we propose an LLM-based software architecture for bot-generated content detection. We utilise a number of AI-based and non-AI-based methodologies, including semantic and sentiment analysis working offline, to identify comments or product reviews generated by bots. Our proof-of-concept implementation is then applied to a number of real-world product reviews and a similar number of AI-generated reviews to check its bot detection accuracy.

Robust and Label-Efficient Adrenal Gland Segmentation in Abdominal CT
Automatic adrenal gland segmentation in abdominal CT is a challenging task due to the small size of the glands, their variable shape, low contrast, and the dependence of model performance on the acquisition protocol and data source. In this work, we propose treating the adrenal glands as a representative case of the small-organ segmentation problem and present a protocol for evaluating the robustness and label efficiency of segmentation models. The study includes a comparison of the strong nnU-Net reference model with approaches based on transfer learning and semi-supervised learning on public abdominal CT datasets, such as BTCV, AMOS, FLARE22, and WORD. The experiments are designed to evaluate segmentation quality under full supervision, limited-label settings, and cross-dataset testing. The evaluation includes overlap and boundary accuracy metrics, including Dice, NSD, and HD95, as well as a separate error analysis for the left and right adrenal glands. The aim of this work is to assess whether adrenal gland segmentation can serve as a rigorous benchmark for methods targeting small anatomical structures under annotation scarcity and domain shift. This perspective shifts the focus from designing yet another architecture toward evaluating the stability, utility, and limitations of existing learning strategies under realistic clinical conditions.

Electro-Thermal Modeling of Photovoltaic Modules Using Simscape: Investigating Soiling Effects and Hot-Spot Phenomena
The accurate simulation of physical degradation in photovoltaic (PV) systems, particularly hot-spot formation due to surface soiling, requires a robust multi-domain approach. Traditional simulation methods often isolate electrical characteristics from thermal dynamics, limiting their ability to model prolonged heating effects and steady-state temperature gradients. This paper presents a comprehensive electro-thermal simulation framework developed in the MATLAB/Simulink and Simscape environments. A dynamic digital twin of a PV module was implemented using a discrete Cauer thermal network, which explicitly separates the thermal masses of the internal silicon cells and the external protective glass. This architectural division allows the model to predict both the internal semiconductor stress temperature and the surface glass temperature, precisely mimicking the thermal delay and inertia observed during unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) infrared inspections. Additionally, the impact of various soiling patterns on the module's electrical characteristics was initially investigated using a decoupled, non-thermal approach to establish baseline degradation profiles. The proposed electro-thermal framework was then utilized to simulate prolonged heating processes under these severe soiling scenarios by forcing the system to operate at specific local power maxima. The results demonstrate the model's high efficiency and stability in simulating steady-state temperatures and thermal degradation during hot-spot conditions. Future work will leverage this validated framework to evaluate the behavior of various Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithms during temperature-induced characteristic drifts. Ultimately, this Simscape-based approach provides a computationally efficient tool for analyzing the physical longevity and thermal safety of PV installations.

Impact of contamination on the performance of photovoltaic installations
The study focuses on analyzing the impact of surface contamination of photovoltaic (PV) panels on the efficiency of electricity production in PV farms and on developing methods for optimizing their operation. The research demonstrates that contaminants such as agricultural and industrial dust, as well as bird droppings, significantly reduce the amount of solar radiation reaching the cells, leading to a decrease in energy conversion efficiency of up to 5–20%.The analyses were conducted on real PV installations located in diverse environmental conditions, enabling the identification of relationships between the surrounding environment and the rate and type of contamination. The methodology included energy production monitoring, meteorological data analysis, chemical composition analysis of dust, and thermographic diagnostics. The results confirmed that natural self-cleaning processes of PV panels are insufficient, and the lack of regular maintenance results in measurable energy losses.A key outcome of the study is the development of a predictive model that enables optimization of cleaning schedules based on local environmental conditions. The proposed approach allows for increased energy production, reduced operational costs, and more efficient management of PV infrastructure. The findings have significant practical implications for PV farm owners and operators, highlighting the importance of implementing systematic and condition-based maintenance as a crucial factor in maintaining high efficiency of renewable energy systems.

AI-Based Classification of Partial Discharges in Contaminated Transformer Oil with Various Electric Field Distributions
This paper presents an experimental investigation into the classification of partial discharges (PD) in transformer oil using artificial intelligence methods. Tests were conducted in an oil-filled tank with interchangeable electrode configurations (sphere-plate, sphere-sphere) simulating various electric field distribution in insulating oil, with high voltage applied and PD signals acquired via the MPD 600 measurement system. To reflect realistic operating conditions, the oil medium was deliberately contaminated with cellulose particles, iron filings, and air bubbles — contaminants characterised by undefined electric potential that locally disturb the electric field distribution and increase classification complexity. Several AI classifiers were evaluated, including SVM, random forests, k-NN, and convolutional neural networks, applied to phase-resolved PD patterns. The results highlight the impact of contamination on PD pattern morphology and assess the effectiveness of AI-based diagnostic approaches under application-relevant conditions. Keywords: partial discharge, transformer oil, high voltage, MPD 600, machine learning, PRPD, contamination

Ethical and Intelligent Procurement: How AI Reduces Risk, Bias, and Inefficiency in Global Supply Networks
Global supply networks have become increasingly complex due to the involvement of multiple suppliers, geographic regions, and diverse regulatory requirements. Traditional procurement systems often struggle to manage this complexity effectively, resulting in inefficiencies, delays, and biased decision-making. Achieving risk-conscious, efficient and fair procurement has thus become a burning issue for organisations that are functioning at the global scale. To overcome these problems, this paper suggests the intelligent and ethical procurement system based on AI. The proposed framework is a combination of predictive analytics, automated decision support, and bias detection systems to enhance the process of supplier selection and overall procurement. The proposed approach not only enhances operational efficiency but also ensures that procurement decisions align with ethical standards and best practices. Experimental results and case studies demonstrate that the AI-based system significantly outperforms traditional methods; the proposed model achieves an overall classification accuracy of approximately 96%, demonstrating strong performance in supplier selection. In addition, the system contributes to a significant reduction in transactional errors and exhibits high reliability in identifying and classifying supply chain risks, thereby enhancing decision-making efficiency and robustness. Overall, the study underscores the critical role of AI in enabling ethical, intelligent, and highly efficient procurement systems for modern organisations.

An analytical model of heating of a single rectangular conductor under distorted currents
This paper presents an analytical model of steady-state heating of a single rectangular conductor, considered as a busbar of thickness 2a and width w ≫ a, carrying a periodic distorted current. The problem is important in current paths of power-electronic, converter-based and distribution systems, where the presence of higher harmonics leads to a non-uniform current-density distribution, increased Joule losses and changes in the thermal conditions of the conductor. Unlike the classical assessment based solely on the current root mean square (rms) value, the proposed model takes into account the influence of the harmonic spectrum and the skin effect on the surface temperature rise of the conductor. The analysis is limited to a single, isolated rectangular busbar for which the dominant heat flow occurs across the thickness. A 1D description of the electromagnetic and thermal fields is assumed, with constant material parameters and convective heat exchange on both wide surfaces of the conductor. For a single current harmonic, the current-density distribution, the corresponding Joule-loss density and the solution of the heat-conduction equation with a Robin boundary condition at the surface are determined. Based on the linearity of the thermal problem, the principle of superposition of the contributions from individual harmonics is used. The total temperature rise of the conductor can be expressed as the sum of the DC component and the harmonic components weighted by the squares of their shares in the rms current value. The obtained model shows that the temperature of a rectangular conductor depends not only on the rms current value, but also on the distribution of energy between the DC component and higher harmonics. The model can be used for a rapid assessment of the influence of current distortion on the thermal ampacity of rectangular busbars and as a starting point for further analysis, including the proximity effect in multi-conductor systems
